How to Refer
Our Befriending Service is open to anyone over the age of 60 who would benefit from some extra companionship.
The aim of the Befriending is to develop meaningful relationships which enrich both parties. The Co-ordinator will be in touch to discuss your particular circumstances and how we can best support you.
All of our Befriending Volunteers are DBS checked and we look to match people who have shared interests, sense of humour and who will get on well.
Volunteers typically visit or phone on a weekly basis. Where Face to Face Befriending is requested our Coordinator will need to visit and complete a Risk Assessment and will then arrange to bring round the Volunteer for an introductory meeting. We also run Telephone Befriending for those who prefer this method of communication.
If you would like to refer yourself or a family member or friend, or if you are referring someone in a professional capacity, then please just fill in the initial form and we will then make contact. We just ask that consent has been gained from the person in question.
