How to Refer

Our Befriending Service is available to anyone over the age of 60 who would welcome some extra companionship.

If you wish to refer yourself, a family member or friend, please click on the Self-Referral Form below.

If you are referring someone in a professional capacity, then please use that form. We do ask that consent has been given from the person you are referring.

Once we have received the form, our Befriending Co-ordinator will be in touch to discuss how we can best support you or the person you have referred.

We try to match people with similar interests and have found that many rewarding, mutually beneficial friendships evolve from Befriending.

Our volunteers are all Enhanced DBS checked, receive a full induction and ongoing support. Volunteers typically visit or phone on a weekly basis. Where face to face befriending is requested, our Befriending Co-ordinator will complete a home Risk Assessment. We then arrange for the volunteer to visit for an introductory meeting. Telephone befriending is also available for those who would prefer this method of communication.
